The Empty Tomb

Evelyn Collins

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. Luke 24:2-3 NIV

Devotion: My friend Beverly Soileau said, "My parents had a relationship with Christ and not an empty religion." A religious mindset concentrates on behavior without getting to know Jesus’ heart; there’s emptiness.

Christianity is a relationship when there’s the desire to spend time together learning God’s ways. It is full of truth, light, and alive. His Spirit is the essence of genuine love. He completes you.

A life without God’s presence is meaningless. You are like the empty tomb. The risen Lord, our Savior, isn’t there.

Do you feel empty? Is there a void you can’t fill? Have you lost hope for the future?

Jesus came to fill you with His peace that exceeds your ability to understand and lifts you above the storms.

He fills you with an abundance of things no amount of money can buy. Blessings that satisfy the deep yearning within your soul to know your creator and that He knows you.

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11 NIV He came to give you hope and a future. He has a plan for your life that exceeds your wildest dreams. You have value and purpose. When you allow Jesus in, the Spirit of God lives in you, bringing joy and wholeness to life!

The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 NIV

My Prayer for you: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NIV Your turn: What hope has God brought to life in you during the Lenten season?

Blessings, Evelyn Collins
